Duties

At the Full-Performance level of GS-12, the duties will be: Serves as specifications engineer in support of projects involving the design of both conventional and unconventional facilities for the Civil Works, Hazardous, and Toxic and Radiological Waste (HTRW). Also, Work for Others (WFO), Support for Others (SFO), and Military Programs, which encompass California, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Assists in the coordination of Design Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) review for Civil Works, HTRW, and Military Design and Construction Programs, applying a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and applicable regulations. Serves as Architect- Engineer Services work facilitator associated with conventional and complex civil works and military projects during the planning, design and construction phase. Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating the preparation and processing of contracts.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: engineering or architecture. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
