You will serve as an Intelligence Analyst on a Cyber Protection Team in the U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND. Analyzes and evaluates information from multiple sources in preparation of defense against potential cyber intrusiions. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will plan, coordinate, and perform complex intelligence analysis and production tasks relative to the issues in the area of responsibility for the Cyber Protection Team to which assigned. You will maintain liaison with other intelligence agencies and operational forces in conduct of daily operations. You will analyze and evaluate information from multiple sources in preparation for defense against potential cyber intrusions. You will mentor junior analysts and perform quality control for section members products. You will provide advice, guidance and feedback regarding analytical processes and efforts.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences, and training.
  • This position may require a 2 year DCIPS trial period.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examinations.
  • This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 111 and you are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2
  • This position requires Weekend and Holiday Work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, coordinating, and performing complex intelligence analysis and production tasks relative to the political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical, or military issues in the area of responsibility for the Cyber Protection Team to which assigned; 2) Maintaining liaison with other intelligence agencies and operational forces in conduct of daily operations and representing the command or agency at interagency/national/international meetings and conferences; and, 3) Identifying intelligence gaps, specifies collection requirements to fill gaps, and develops analytical tools and methodologies to cope with the gaps; and, 4) Analyzing and evaluating information from multiple sources in preparation for defense against potential cyber intrusions.
