About the Position: Branch Chief, incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating work involved in ensuring environmental compliance for the preservation of environmental, fish and wildlife, forest, and cultural resources related to water resources projects in the district.
The Engineers (0810/0819) are on special salary table. The salary range is $129,880 - $168,841.
Duties
Plans, coordinates, and supervises the activities of subordinate professionals.
Provides oversight and guidance on studies and analyses related to ecological interaction, fish and wildlife enhancement, endangered species, environmental quality, waterfowl management.
Conducts and documents ecological base studies to provide a source of environmental, physical, and other data for specified geographical areas.
Prepares recreation studies related to benefits, needs, and commercial leases within the District.
Analyzes recreation benefits by estimating initial day-use and related demands/needs and evaluating these in terms of appropriate recreational values.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience for GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, controlling, and reviewing the formulation and development of both long-range and project plans; conducting environmental and/or cultural resources analyses; and the preparation of environmental assessments and environmental impact statements on existing and proposed Civil Works projects.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-13.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
