This position is located in the Chinle Service Unit (CSU), Division of Public Health, Population Health Department, Chinle, Arizona. the primary purpose of this position is to advise on, review, evaluate, and coordinate, preventive and therapeutic healthcare services to patients and families; develop initiatives aimed at preventing and managing sexually transmitted infections (STIs); and creating, managing, and evaluating parental child health programs as an independent licensed practitioner.

Duties

Provide evidenced-based practice and evaluation of treatment of individual patients with STIs and coordinates primary and specialized health care for women and families. Serve as consultant to physicians for diagnosis, education, and recognition of STIs. Counsels diverse and complex patients and their families about preventing disease and maintaining good mental and physical health. Establishes the goals, objectives, measures, and plans for initiatives related to parental child health, STIs, and other Division priorities in alignment with the Service Unit (SU) strategic plan. Coordinates with a variety of departments, programs, clinics, and communities to ensure assigned programs are high-quality, data-driven, and regularly evaluated. Education A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: For Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) positions, applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited education program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. Licensure For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Recognize technical authority in the management of specific infectious diseases; diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic approaches related to a variety of medical fields; collecting, organizing, recording and communicating primary health assessments in a meaningful way; using current physiology and or psychopathology, diagnostic evaluation procedures, pharmacokinetics, nursing management and rehabilitative processes in specialized area; developing initiatives aimed at preventing and managing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and improving maternal and child health outcomes. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
