This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Business Operations Center (BOC), Office of Worker Safety, Health and Environment (OWSHE). OWSHE provides leadership, policy guidance, technical advice, and overall administration and management of the department's internal safety, occupational health, and worker's compensation programs.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Duties
For GS-0018-14:
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
Qualifications
For GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-14 includes: Experience training workers, supervisors, managers, safety and occupational health professionals and employee representatives on industrial hygiene topics and OSHA inspection protocol; experience conducting OSHA inspections and applying Federal OSHA protocols, standards, policy and guidelines to work-related hazards, ergonomic-related hazards and record-keeping issues.
