This position is located at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, Madison WI. This position reports to the Chief of Education, the primary purpose of this position is to provide instruction and assistance to Education Service concerning determination of training needs, sources of needed training, plans to meet needs, design, implementation of training, and evaluation of results.
Duties

Major Duties:
Planning, developing, implementing, directing, evaluating, and coordinating the overall education programs at the Medical Center
Serves as a consultant and subject matter expert for specific educational needs
Responsibility for analyzing, evaluating, and designing adult educational activities
Serve as direct supervisor Education Service Staff in Education Service
Observes workers' performance
Performs duties as principal point of contact to provide advice and guidance on instructional design standards to clinical and administrative staff.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Qualifications
Basic Requirements: In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the Basic Requirement.
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Possess a Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least twenty-four (24) semester hours in a field related to the work of the position to be filled, of which at least nine (9) semester hours must have been in education courses. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
OR
Possess combination of education and experience: having at least twenty-four (24) semester hours in a field related to the work of the position to be filled, of which at least nine (9) semester hours must have been in education courses, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience must reflect the level and kind described in your resume. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED
OR
Possess four (4) years of experience that demonstrated a thorough understanding of the principles and practices underlying the work of this series. This experience must have been of such character and diversity to demonstrate that the applicant possesses an understanding of the field comparable to that normally acquired through successful completion of a full four (4-year) course of study in an accredited college or university.
OR
Possess at least one (1) full academic year of professional teaching experience. This experience is defined as full and primary responsibility, under general supervision, for instruction of assigned students in an accredited school or institution. This includes responsibility for preparing and presenting lessons and for evaluating students' progress, including a determination of the students' success or failure according to established criteria. Serving in an assistant capacity to a professor without the authority to determine the students' success or failure to meet course requirements does not meet this criterion.

EDUCATION: Possess one (1) year of specialized experience, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience, gained in healthcare or medical environment/setting includes: having supervisory experience and a professional knowledge of the education and the consultation process order to assess, design, implement and evaluate educational products, services and activities; understanding of Instructional design principles, learning technologies and adult learning theory; skill in writing, verbal, and interpersonal communications to work effectively with staff from all levels of the organization, planning, developing, implementing, directing, evaluating, and coordinating education programs, providing instruction and assistance concerning the determination of training needs, provides direct educational support to senior management, monitoring approved education projects and providing technical expertise, serves as a consultant and subject matter expert for specific educational needs, determining training needs by conferring with Health Care Group Leaders, resolve informal complaints and grievances, and understand the evolving health care environment in order to successfully plan educational activities to impact that setting.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates.
