This position, the incumbent serves as a Program Specialist for VISN 22 Tele Endocrinology, a Veteran-centric multidisciplinary clinic. Using telehealth technology, patients are managed by a panel of experts from endocrinology, nursing, nutrition, and mental health. The Program Specialist reports directly to the Tele Endocrinology Program Manager and independently works with other VHA organizations located across the country.
Duties
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
The Program Specialist duties include but are not limited to developing local policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Tele-Endocrinology guidance and instruction; assisting in monitoring and evaluating program content; managing program goals and objectives and identifying results indicative of successful program accomplishments; coordinating the multidisciplinary endocrinology panel meetings and staff meetings. Projecting agendas, summaries, results tables, communication among investigators and staff, and decisions that are required for proper documentation of progress; managing the SharePoint where many of the evaluations and results are highlighted, and the meeting summaries are documented; assisting leadership with assembly of the annual Memorandums of Understanding with collaborating partners such as Office of Rural Health and VA spoke sites; organizing program seminars and meetings and provides participants with agendas and summaries; participating in preparation grant proposals and telehealth agreements with Spoke sites. Collaborating with analyst/investigator from Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) to develop protocols and processes for program evaluation, sustainability, and scalability.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/09/2023.
GRADE LEVEL REQUIREMENT: GS-09Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 showing your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience typically includes: assisting with evaluating and monitoring the quality, safety, efficiency, utilization, productivity, and effectiveness of Telehealth; supporting the planning, coordinating, implementing, managing, and evaluating clinical applications of Telehealth for strategic goals; OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education leading towards a Masters Degree.

Physical Requirements
Periodic walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as medical records, Telehealth and Connected Care Equipment, instructional material, books and manuals. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Community visits will require the ability to drive a vehicle.
