This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will plan, develop, integrate, and execute an effective education, evaluation, and exercise program, including integrating joint education training activities across USTRANSCOM for both internal and external audiences.
Duties
As a TRAINING SPECIALIST (INSTRUCTOR) at the GS-1712-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Implementing, evaluating, and coordinating USTRANSCOM's education and evaluation programs.
Recommending various courses of action to ensure senior leadership has alternatives to resolve problems associated with USTRANSCOM training programs.
Evaluating a full range of USTRANSCOM and its subordinate command's training programs and developing and executing improvement and enhancement plans.
Preparing and delivering written reports and oral presentations, including briefings, training sessions, consultations, orientations, and discussions with USTRANSCOM leadership, supervisors, co- workers, and customers.
Conducting extensive analysis of available facts, applicable directives, laws, and
other guidelines, which may be only partially relevant, in the resolution for dealing with especially difficult and complex problems and particularly controversial issues.

- Employee may occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Developing and implementing policies concerning management of training programs.
Reviewing training operations to ensure that they meet legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
Preparing various types of guidance for other training specialists on how to respond to various issues or problems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
