About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Requisition parts and supplies through the federal supply system and from commercial vendors.
Process receipt transactions in Logistics Information System (LIS) for material being received through Supply System, by contract, local purchase and similar means
Review packing lists, receiving documents, bills of lading, inspection reports and other actions for material receipt against contract and/or purchase orders to verify accuracy of stock identification, quantity, costs, and other pertinent data.
Make purchases using U.S. Government Purchase Card (GPC) for items not available through the Army wholesale supply system, or items whose lead time is deemed inadequate to support mission requirements
Develop data required for the execution of purchases with the GPC to include; sources of supply, availability of items, obtaining government discounts, mode of shipment, and certification of invoices and statements.
Function as a purchasing agent with a single purchase limit of $10,000.00 and a monthly limit up to a maximum of $65,000.00 or as determined by the Billing Official (BO).
Operate electric, gasoline, or diesel powered forklift truck in order to lift loads weighing up to 10,000 pounds.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to possess a valid government motor vehicle operators license authorizing the operation of vehicles and equipment as necessary for accomplishment of the duties of the position.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment when in warehouse areas and operating forklift.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator certificate within 90 days of employment.
- Must complete GCSS-Army training within 30 days of employment.
- Must complete Government Purchase Card (GPC) training within 30 days of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) utilizing a computer with an application such as or similar to GCSS-Army to enter supply data; 2) functioning as a purchasing agent using sources such as or similar to the Government Purchase Card (GPC); 3) maintaining documentation related to a purchasing agent for tracking and reconciliation; 4) operating motor vehicles weighing less than 26,000 pounds; and 5) operating a forklift to lift loads weighing up to 10,000 pounds. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
