Facilities Management Service is seeking Maintenance Workers to perform various small repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and performs other general carpentry duties at the medical center. This includes installations, assembles, maintenance, repairs, and some fabrications of various systems and equipment. Incumbents will work under the direct supervision of the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor.
Duties
Maintenance Workers will diagnose various types of problems, make decisions and troubleshoot issues to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. Incumbents will also utilize safety and security practices to maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform electrical work that consists of replacing fixtures, lights, switches, outlets, motors, call systems, TV systems, etc.
Repair and replace leaking faucets, toilets, clearing clogged drain, sprinkler systems, etc.
Perform air conditioning maintenance including adjusting thermostats, cleaning filters and condensers, controlling hot/cold water valves, etc.
Perform mechanical work, such as repairing wheelchairs, mobile stretcher, carts, office equipment, etc.
Install door holders, lock sockets, closures, bumpers, hand rails, hinge, ceiling grids and panels, etc.
Estimate material costs and inspect materials to ensure quality and quantity.
Order, receive, reject, deliver, pack, crate and ship supplies/equipment.
Build displays, modify tables, counters, cabinets and shelving, etc.
Install metal stud walls, finish sheet rock, sand surfaces and paint assigned rooms.
Store all items in accordance with approved standards and methods.
Assist loading and unloading trucks.
Ensure files remain current for all purchases, stock, deliveries, etc.
Other related duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
