This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Southern Ute Agency, Branch of Real Estate Services, in Ignacio, Colorado.
Incumbent ensures the timely preparation of probate cases.

Duties
Create correspondence, reports, memorandums, and other documents.
Assist in preparing documentation for distribution of trust assets to close Individual Indian Monies accounts.
Conduct family research to gather required documents and information for probate cases to be submitted for probate proceedings.
Enter and maintain data in automated system such as the Trust Asset and Accounting Management System.
File and maintain records adhering to Federal privacy and records management regulations.
Provide customer service to individuals.
Receive calls, visitors, and answers inquiries regarding probate information.
Provide written and oral information to the public regarding the American Probate Reform Act regulations and probate procedures.
Provide technical assistance to other Trust programs regarding probate.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0962.)
Specialized Experience GS-05: Qualifying is one year of specialized experience equivalent or comparable to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include use of telephone skills and etiquette, proficiency in using computers, electronic databases; maintaining data tracking systems; typing correspondence, reports, memoranda and other forms; assembling material documents; filing and maintaining records according to established procedures.

Education: Qualifying is four years of progressively higher-level undergraduate education leading to a bachelors degree in an accredited business or technical school, college or university above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Applicants may also qualify based upon appropriate combinations of undergraduate education and appropriate specialized experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
Typing Proficiency Selective Factor: Applicants must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute and knowledge of general office automation software, such as, word processing, personal computer, electronic mail, database management, spreadsheet, etc.

One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education which shows the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
