This position is being announced under FEMA's Incident Management Assistant Team (IMAT) Program. This is a 4-year temporary appointment in the Excepted service. This position is located on a Type II, Regional/National IMAT and has a starting salary range of $49.86 per hour to $57.34 per hour; however, the maximum salary possible in this position is $64.78 per hour.  Salary listed includes locality pay.   • 24 hour on-call work schedule during emergency response periods required.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.

Qualifications

The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the IT-03 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IT-02) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of the following specialized experience:  Developing and implementing operational or incident response plans pertaining to infrastructure systems such as transportation, public works, engineering, or communications; Analyzing and disseminating information regarding impacts to critical infrastructure in partnership with various stakeholders; and Leading a team by engaging in activities such as providing guidance, communicating priorities, and/or delegating authority. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
