The incumbent serves as a Maintenance Technician. He/she repairs; and replaces furniture, draperies, services equipment and accessories to permit refurnishing or refurbishing any part of, or area of, the hospital or outside buildings. The Incumbent must be knowledgeable in the proper placement of hardware used to install drapery rods. He/she must be able to make the necessary cutting, squaring and leveling to ensure correct specifications are met.
Duties
Comply with safety regulations to prevent injury to himself and others while on ladders, placing large pieces of equipment and material in place.
interpreting from blueprint sketches and work orders to determine the correct dimensions, type and quantity of materials needed to perform an assigned task.
Work from extension ladders, scaffolds and around equipment where coordination between hand and eye is imperative.
Use small hand tools, electric drills, saws, hammers and various other equipment and hardware.
Securing proper materials, equipment and tools necessary to perform assigned job.
Repairs and replaces furniture, draperies, services equipment and accessories to permit furnishings or refurbishing any part or area of the hospital or outside buildings.
Work Schedule: 0700-1530, Rotating schedule. Subject to change based on the needs to the agency.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The incumbent is required to work from extension ladders, scaffolds, and around equipment where coordination between hand and eye is imperative. He/she must be skilled in using small hand tools, electric drills, saws, hammers and various other equipment and hardware. He is required to do intermittent carrying and lifting large articles such as file cabinets, desks, etc., climb ladders, scaffolds, maintaining body balance while working there and reaching and working on overhead items, occasionally lifts items weighing up to 50 pounds. (i.e. furniture, boxes, etc.).
Heavy lifting 45 pounds and over, moderate carrying 15-44 pounds, straight pulling 8+ hours, pushing 8+ hours, reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling repeated bending, climbing (use of legs and arms) 8+ hours, both legs required, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required, depth perception, ability to distinguish basic color and shades of colors, hearing (aid permitted)
