About the Position: Serves as the Human Resources Assistant (Military) for a variety of Human Resource Military personnel programs and systems in support of the US Army Medical Center of Excellence. This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.

Duties

Perform military personnel management for the department. Provide administrative personnel support for military customers. Operate Military Human Resource automated databases for data entry. Research policies to solve Military Human Resource problems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying Military Human Resources rules and regulations, policies, and operations; providing military personnel management advice to organizations; managing various human resources automated data systems; resolving complex unprecedented problems and applying military procedures within an organization; updating military policies and regulations; experience maintaining control over unit personnel evaluations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalHuman Resources Technology UsageMilitaryOrganizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
