This position is located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Resident Services, Recreation Services Division.
Duties
As an ACTIVITIES & VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, you will:
Plan with administrative staff and co-workers the objectives and scope of the Volunteer Services Program to augment the services and programs made available to residents, recruits and orients new volunteers, arranges for their training and placement, and supervises the program.
Coordinate and manage the Resident Stipend Program and maintains all records/payroll data affiliated with the program.
Track the Volunteer performing groups and tours throughout the campus via monthly volunteer attendance report.
Recruit and interview applicants to determine their aptitudes, abilities and qualifications.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-09, you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes: recruitment of volunteers or employees for a functional program or service; and coordinating/training/directing employees or volunteers in order to perform activities.
For example:
Planning, organizing, developing, leading, special events such as expos and ceremonies.
Working in a retirement home or large community living setting.
OR
Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D, if related.
OR
You may qualify based on a combination or education and experience. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
