This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing,in the Office of Engraving. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing programs, branches, and projects related to technology development, process improvement, system, and/or equipment improvement efforts within the Office of Engraving.
Duties
The BEP is currently in the process of having a new facility built in Beltsville, MD and expect to move to the new facility within the next 5 years. If selected, you may be sent and/or reassigned to the new Beltsville facility. By applying to this position, you understand this potential requirement.
As a Program Manager, you will:
Manage and implement technology development or process, system, and/or equipment improvement projects related to the Office of Engraving.
Develop and support strategic plans and initiatives for the Office as well as develop and track office metrics in support of the overall Manufacturing and BEP strategic goals.
Oversee the creation of technical prints, drawings, and manufacturing tolerances for instruments of reproduction produced by the Office of Engraving.
Oversee and track all CCB activities and write success criterion for the validation of process changes, new equipment, and material changes that occur within the Office of Engraving.
Coordinate on all issues, problems related to offset, intaglio currency plate fit, and registration as related to existing and new technology.
Coordinate his/her activities with other members of the Office of Engraving, Technology Staff, and other technical and administrative personnel as required.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience managing projects, which includes planning and requirements development, execution, resolution of issues, liaison with multiple stakeholders, and communication of results.
Examples of such experience may include:
Developing production schedules and project plans for a detailed program or operation; OR
Providing leadership to subordinate personnel; OR
Recognizing issues and communicating them, along with the corrective action, to leadership and subordinate personnel; OR
Developing strategic plans for future staffing, technology, and resources.
