You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER (MVO / FLO / HAZMAT) in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST FACILITY & INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT DEPT FACILITY & PLANT MAINT DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will operate forklift, tractor, and utility vehicle.
You will wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
You will operate appropriate tools of the trade.
You will identify and understand Hazardous Material labeling.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION
Perform pre-receipt inspections/examinations of hazardous waste on-site at the generation point, and assure that the receipt documentation is in order and safe to handle, and all labels, Waste Information Documents, placards or other markings are on the hazardous waste drums prior o pick-up.
Operate electric or air driven overhead hoist or monorails of up to 5-ton capacity to fill chemical tanks in confined areas.
Use common hand tools and pneumatic/electric grinders, sanders and drills to remove corroded/frozen bolts and pipe fittings to gain access to chemical tanks.
Clean hazardous waste and material spills utilizing absorbents, neutralizing agents and other equipment used for the safe and effective clean-up of spills.
Coordinate and schedule date and time to have OSHA personnel available to check Lower Explosive Limits (LEL) inside tanks before personnel enter tanks.
