This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Human Resources Assistant (NEO Support), you will:
Serve as an immediate liaison for new hire activities during New Employee Orientation (NEO) on a bi-weekly basis in response to initial contact.
Coordinate NEO activities to include assisting new employees with completion of applicable federal forms, process paperwork intake through the USAS Onboarding Portal, and ensure finalization of all documents to be entered into the pay/personnel database.
Assist Human Resources (HR) Specialists with launching and manipulating reports in HR Connect or use other applicable Front-End System Interface (FESI).
Identify and refer serious problems or questions, requiring detailed analysis or extensive research, to the responsible HR Specialist.
Collect information for changes, additions, or deletions to PBRD's intranet pages.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-07 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Utilizing HR automated systems; AND
Experience providing customer service and assistance to internal and external customers; AND
Communicating professionally, both orally and in writing, with peers, management and/ or customers; AND
Creating and reviewing final office correspondences which demonstrate proper use of grammar, punctuation, format and writing style
For the GS-06 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience providing customer service and assistance to internal customers; AND
Communicating professionally, both orally and in writing, with peers, management and/ or customers; AND
Creating and reviewing final office correspondences which demonstrate proper use of grammar, punctuation, format, and writing style
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-07 you must have been at the GS-06 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-06 you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
