You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the FST SITE LEAD, FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will develop logistics policies, instructions, and procedural guidance for supply program budget or implementation You will resolve integrated logistical support (ILS) problems by developing new approaches and procedures. You will conduct cost benefit analyses on logistics operations to develop recommendations You will analyze data used to identify resource requirements for logistics operations. You will recommend data policy, guidance, format, or standardization of life-cycle technical or product data.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Taking concluding action on assigned systems or functions using advanced concepts, principles, and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management, 2) Approving PHS&T plans using broad maintenance knowledge of systems and subsystems disciplines related to aeronautics, mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, aerodynamics, propellants and explosives, 3) Supporting DON and NAVAIR logistics acquisition systems by applying policies and procedures of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program, COMNAVFORINST 4790.2, 4) Ensuring workplace safety by adhering to rules, regulations and instruction manuals pertaining to Preparing Hazardous Materials For Military Air Shipments (e.g. CFR Title 49, AFMAN 24-604, ICAO, IATA, IMDG), 5) Developing administrative relationships and coordinating with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM), Defense Security Service (DSS), Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA), and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for transportation issues.
