As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Critical Infrastructure Technical Expert) in the Office of Bank Supervision Policy, Operational Risk, you will serve as the expert advisor on addressing concerns and risks arising from cyber and national security threats and their impact on the nation's banking critical infrastructure and operational resiliency.
Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Critical Infrastructure Technical Expert), you will:
Advise on systemic operational risk issues, including the supervisory aspects, associated with critical infrastructure and national security matters.
Collaborate internally and externally to support incident coordination efforts and associated information sharing activities related to events that could impact critical financial infrastructure and could pose systemic or national security risks.
Recommend courses of action for OCC's management's consideration to ensure that the OCC has accurate assessment of systemic operational risk issues affecting or threatening critical infrastructure.
Represent the OCC's position, policies, and guidance on emerging and systemic operational risk issues in meetings with representatives of the banking and financial industry and trade associations.
Assist with the formulation and implementation of a broad range of policies and initiatives needed to further the agency's mission, addressing a wide variety of supervisory policies, guidance, and examination practices.
Work in a team environment with managers and other staff members on policy and bank supervision issues, and provide expertise on cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, systemic operational risk, and national security matters.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level or GS-14 Grade Level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Identifying financial infrastructure risks and potential impacts arising from threats and vulnerabilities on the nation's banking system. or
Providing advice and recommendations to bankers, senior management, agency officials or field examiners on ways to identify, prevent, respond to, or mitigate critical financial infrastructure, cybersecurity, and national security risks and issues.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
