Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.

All initial attorney positions to the Department of Justice are made on a 14-month (temporary) basis.

Duties
Achieving and maintaining eLitigation proficiency among attorneys and staff is a top priority of the Department of Justice and the United States Attorney's Office. This Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) will be responsible for building and overseeing the office's eLitigation Unit, which will serve all litigating divisions. This includes advising and/or consulting with both civil and criminal case teams, office management, and others, such as defense counsel, law enforcement and client agencies, the Court, Federal Public Defender, on substantive electronic litigation (eLitigation) and discovery issues; ensuring discovery processes are defensible; developing the office's eLitigation policies, procedures, and protocols, including procedures for processing, reviewing, producing, and managing electronic discovery; supervising litigation support specialists; supervising and coordinating the processing of discovery in criminal and civil cases, and providing training on litigation technology software tools and applications.
This is not a trial AUSA position, although it may involve briefing the Court on eLitigation issues and providing technical and IT advice and support for trial teams relating to such matters. The selected candidate will be an attorney advisor, who will be fully dedicated to coordinating the office's eLitigation program. The AUSA will be located in the Cleveland Office of the Northern District of Ohio.
Experience with complex civil or criminal litigation and with using litigation technology applications to acquire, organize, analyze and present electronic discovery and evidence is strongly preferred. Successful candidates should have a strong academic background, possess superior oral and written communication skills, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have demonstrated the capacity to work effectively with a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment. Successful candidates should also possess the knowledge and ability to use computers and computer applications in performing day-to-day work requirements.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member in good standing of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least three (3) full years of post-bar admission professional attorney experience.
United States citizenship is required.
