Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing executive administrative support to the Principal Assistant United States Attorney (PAUSA), Executive Assistant United States Attorneys (EAUSAs) and/or Special Counsels within the Front Office (FO). Duties may include, but are not limited to, performing executive administrative assignments in the following functions: (1) executive administrative and management support; (2) executive secretary support, (3) training support; (4) ethics and professional responsibility support; (5) e-litigation support and (6) discovery support. Typical work assignments will include: Planning, coordinating, and managing administrative affairs of the PAUSA, EAUSAs, and/or Special Counsels so as to facilitate day-to-day administrative activities of the FO. Producing a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions in one or more types of office automation software. Providing administrative support to Office's training program, to include preparing training programs. Assisting with preparing and proofreading reports on Ethics, Professional Responsibility, e-litigation, and Discovery projects. Coordinating and implementing innovative administrative initiatives to improve the process of requesting, receiving, compiling, examining, and maintaining documents from internal and external entities. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, Specialized Experience, OR Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience, as defined below: Specialized Experience: I have at least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the competencies needed to perform the job duties. Examples of such experience are: knowledge of standardized administrative practices and procedures sufficient to conduct reviews of administrative work processes in various executive office functions to identify, analyze and recommend solutions applicable to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations; running and maintaining reports for senior management; performing special assignments such as preparing or assisting in the presentation of training programs; preparing presentations; coordinating office ceremonies; working independently and making sound decisions reflecting good judgment; and working under the pressure of short deadlines. OR Education: One of the following types of education in a related field: PHD or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university. OR Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
