This position is a located on the Hoosier/Shawnee National Forest at either Harrisburg, IL or Bedford, IN locations. The incumbent serves as an Economic Partnership Coordinator with responsibility for program development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting as part of the Forest Service Partnership Program. Duties

Assists forests in developing and implementing Partnership Programs that are responsive to the goals, needs, and demands of all parties involved. Establish and maintain a communications network with internal and external partners to support partnership projects. Provide advisory assistance to staff and specialists to coordinate partnership efforts with external organizations and agencies. Leads focused strategic planning efforts and assists in a broad range of complementary planning work, to develop and implement volunteer and partnership programs that leverage resources and help achieve recreation and natural resource goals. Serve as a technical expert working in collaboration with partnership program staff and leadership to integrate program goals in support of the mission. Apply agency-wide strategic focus areas to assist leadership in developing and implementing organizational goals, objectives, vision and values for the partnership program. Inform and educate key stakeholders about the partnership opportunities. Identify programmatic issues or conflicts, and coordinate with staff to negotiate and/or resolve problems.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-11: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as one or more of the following: Assisted staff and stakeholders across a variety disciplines in the development of new partnerships or expanding/maintaining existing partnerships with governmental, non-governmental, non-profit, foundations, Tribal government, media, academic, and/or other organizations; Provided assistance in identifying potential partners and proposing partnership opportunities to help accomplish the organization's mission; Served as a technical specialist on projects and programs providing advice to staff regarding partnership programs and activities; Assisted with the management of natural resource projects and programs; Provide leadership and oversight for the management of natural resource projects and programs including the direction, coordination, scheduling, and tracking., OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (coursework directly related to position being filled) OR An appropriate combination of specialized experience and graduate level education (beyond what is required for a master's degree, i.e., more than 36 semester hours leading to a Ph.D.). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
