About the position:
This position is Flexible (part-time) with no guaranteed number of hours per week, and will be assigned to the Bowling Center at Langley AFB.
Duties
Performs opening and closing routines for the Bowling Center.
Prepares and/or verifies appropriate cash control paperwork and makes bank deposits and distribution run.
Responsible for inputting time and leave into SETS payroll system.
Conducts inventories of pro shop items and may be required to inventory snack bar resale items, facility equipment and other supply items.
Requests approval for purchases submitted by section supervisors.
Demonstrates and instructs participants on the proper use of equipment and provides guidance and instruction on bowling techniques.
Informs supervisor of equipment malfunctions as well as other items needing maintenance or repair.
Assists in advertising and recruiting participants for leagues, tournaments, special events and open play activities.
May be required to schedule and administer these activities in the capacity of league secretary or tournament director.
Assists with the design and development of publicity/marketing materials to promote use of facility.
Ensures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up and rules and regulations are observed.
Ensures that the facility is maintained in a neat, clean and sanitary condition.
Opens and closes the bowling facility as required.
May be required to man the customer service desk within the bowling center; assigning lanes to be used, operating control console, renting shoes and selling items in the pro shop.
Assists with counter duties in Snack Bar during peak hours and/or manpower shortages.
May supervise, lead, oversee and/or coordinate the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires incumbent to have a valid, current state driver's license or able and willing to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of bowling center operations including the rules related to bowling and organization of leagues and tournaments. Must have a working knowledge of bowling machinery and equipment and bowling lane care. Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Prior experience in basic supply techniques is desirable. Position requires current state driver's license. Subject to satisfactory completion of required security clearance.
