Duties

Provide guidance administering the ROTC accession program Monitor Information management system Respond to inquiries from the public, major and regional commands regarding the accessions program Analyze information from reports and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time.
  • One Year trial period may be required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify for the GS-09: Applicants with current or prior permanent Federal service must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the second lower grade/level (GS-07). Specialized experience is defined as: work experience that involves preparing a documents using a variety of Civilian Human Resources (HR) automated systems, databases, spreadsheets and word processing software. Experience in applying HR statutory and regulatory requirements, objectives and policies governing Civilian HR management and program operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). To qualify for the GS-11: Applicants with current or prior permanent Federal service must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the second lower grade/level (GS-09). Specialized experience is defined as: work that includes the management of the organization's awards program, and training for personnel with special emphasis on position management, classification, recruitment and placement, performance management, training, pay, and incentive awards programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceOrganizational AwarenessProject ManagementReasoning Time in Grade Requirement for GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-07 grade (or equivalent). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below and such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work:

GS-09 Level- Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. (You MUST provide transcripts)

GS-11 Level- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. (You MUST provide transcripts)

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
