Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to CBP management. This position starts at a salary of $82,830.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $107,680.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $107,680.00 (GS-12 Step 10). In this Mission Support Specialist (Generalist) position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by becoming a valuable member of a team of administrative professionals. Typical work assignments include: Identifying, evaluating and recommending to management appropriate interventions to resolve complex and interrelated problems and issues related to finance Performing tasks associated with creating requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approvals Prepares reports with data from internal data sources as well as CBP automated systems for regular and one-time informational needs by senior manager Generating and maintaining various reports, updating and providing information for the internal Table of Organization (TO) tracker, and monitoring tickler reports and staffing tables

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing fleet records by creating, accepting, and transferring CBP fleet records Managing inventories and records management and provides training in accordance with local and higher headquarters directives Understanding, analyzing, and evaluating information in order to determine accuracy and make recommendations to improve operations and meet business objectives Utilizing standard computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite) to develop and maintain electronic files, Word processing documents to prepare various type of issue and project papers, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets that concisely presents findings and recommendations NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/04/2023.
