About the Position: Incumbent is responsible for managing the efficient coordination and accomplishment of the planning scope, development, design, and direction of major projects. The position requires a broad technical background and experience in various functions; a full and in-depth understanding of procedures and authorization and appropriation processes; strong background contract procurement and administration; and a strong management background.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the level of the position, however you will be trained to develop into a full performance GS-12. Various duties may include:
Serves as a project manager responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, construction, and direction.
Coordinates the planning, design, cost, etc., for projects of substantial scope and complexity as, measured by the in diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public issues.
Primary point of contact for projects assigned with sponsor/customer; Federal, state, and local government agencies, interest; other external organizations, and higher authorities.

Minimum Qualifications for the GS-11:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes assisting with Project Management processes and policies of assigned projects; assisting managing the efficient and effective coordination of accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, construction, and direction of assigned projects; assisting managing project milestones and budgets of assigned projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Minimum Qualifications for the GS-12:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes experience working with Project Management processes and policies of assigned projects; managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, construction, and direction of assigned projects; managing project milestones and budgets of assigned projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9/11).
