About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Pediatrics in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Duties
Participate in the development of policy in administrative areas by researching prior publications, regulations, and recommending new policies and/or changes.
Disseminate information to the office personnel concerning policies, plans, procedures, methods, and actions of an administrative nature.
Prepare correspondence covering subject of an administrative nature, both internal and external.
Accomplish input to the automated Time and Leave System for personnel assigned to the organization.
Maintain a continual accumulation of all types of data for use in preparation of a variety of recurring reports.
Coordinate with staff administrative officer on personnel management matters and with other staff organizations on various administrative activities.
Provide staff advisory service in administrative areas to operating officials and/or clerical support.
Transmit and receive documents promptly using PCs or workstations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Performing technical, administrative, and clerical tasks such as researching information from various database sources; 2) Drafting correspondences, reports, and briefings; 3) Maintaining files and records; and 4) Responding to internal and external customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
