VA Augusta Health Care System (VAAHCS) is located within the Veterans Integrated Service Network 7 (VISN) and provides outstanding health care, trains America's future health care providers, and conducts important medical research. Facilities include our Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in the downtown division and in the uptown division, as well as three community-based outpatient clinics in Athens and Statesboro, Georgia; and Aiken, South Carolina.
Duties
Interior Design Move Coordination Assistance
Assists with installation of projects, including hanging artwork, placing furniture, and styling
accessories
Conducts post-project follow-up with clients to ensure satisfaction
Coordinator for planned and unplanned furniture and other related moves from one location to another throughout VAAHCS. The incumbent coordinates all incoming furniture deliveries and moves with the Facility Planning office
Oversees the assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of various types of furniture.
Coordinates storage of furniture, and equipment in designed areas arranged by the Facility
Planning office
Responsible for storage space utilization of all stock and furniture in accordance with regulations.
Independently plans maximum space utilization and protection of materials by consolidating and
relocating materials as needed.
Handles furniture and equipment of high value items.
Prepares inventory reports, oversees the receiving and logging of all incoming furniture and equipment. Checks shipping documents to verify and ensure incoming and outgoing shipments are in proper order prior to final receiving. Unloads and stacks incoming furniture and equipment.
Identifies damage to furniture and equipment through visual inspection
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and material
Equipment Operation
Operates large warehouse vehicles such as cargo trucks, pallet jacks, and regular vehicles. May operates a forklifts and related vehicles in holding areas on unpaved, un-improved or difficult terrain in the warehouse. Uses pallet jacks, side loaders, dollies, and other appropriate moving equipment to complete assigned jobs
Will be trained to operator's license and have the necessary skills and knowledge tolearn to operate and perform daily duties with electric carts, forklifts, and other manually operated
moving equipment.
Program Support
Performs initial reviews of electronic work requests in the LEAF program, and updates spreadsheets and other documents as necessary to build scheduled furniture delivery and pick-up schedules. Updates Maximo database room information for room use and ownership changes as identified by the Facility Planner.
Primary responsibility for answering telephone calls at the number designated for work request questions, determining the exact nature of the telephone requests, and if judged an emergency, notifying the appropriate section or unit for immediate attention to the situation. The incumbent also answers inquiries as to the status of work requests and makes inquiries if requests are unclear or incomplete
Administrative Support
Performs fiscal Control Point duties and is trained as a credit card holder
Responsible for attending appropriate acquisition training and acceptance of the duties involved with using purchase cards. Responsible for complying with acquisition regulations, VA, Federal and local training, to include 8A, small business, Javis-Wagner-O 'Day Act and mandatory source acquisitions. Responsible for reconciling purchase card charges on the electronic statements and in VISTA. Routinely makes individual purchases not exceeding the set threshold for purchases.
Works closely to coordinate moves requiring OIT (computer) staff support, Housekeeping
support and Engineering support for new computer and power outlets and signage and
basic work orders.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/18/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-5 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
For GS-5 level positions, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. Two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to l year of specialized experience.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation .

Physical Requirements: The work requires some physical exertion, such as continuous standing, walking, crouching and stooping at design project location. Recurring Lifts, carries, and moves objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance.
Working Conditions: Works both inside and outside, occasionally in bad weather, exposed to hot and cold temperatures, difficult terrain, blowing dirt and dust, drafts, noise, grease and fumes. As required, uses safety
equipment and clothing such as coveralls, ear protectors, safety glasses and shoes, gloves, and hardhats.
