You will serve as a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST in the Command Administration of NAS KINGSVILLE TX.
Duties
You will create, prepare, and proofread official correspondence applying the Navy Correspondence manual guidelines.
You will review reports, documents, or records to verify completeness and accuracy.
You will enter data into databases to set up and maintain files and records.
You will review Drug Free Workplace Program (DFWP) documentation to validate compliance.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
To be considered for GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and maintaining official correspondence, forms, and files in accordance with policies and regulations; 2) Assisting with the coordination of an activity's Drug Free Workplace Program; 3) Conducting all aspects of mail operations to include receipt, routing, dispatch and control of packages and mail; and 4) Approving expenditures for supplies, equipment, and maintenance contracts within budget allocations.
To be considered for GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and maintaining correspondence in compliance with official regulations and policies; 2) Reviewing directives and regulations to ensure conformance to department regulations; 3) Receiving and routing incoming/outgoing mail; and 4) Developing new and improving existing forms.

Education
Successful completion of one full academic year of graduate level education (of which the major study was public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled) may be substituted for the GS-07 specialized experience requirement.
