You will serve as a Facility Operations Specialist/Quality Assurance Evaluator for the Operations and Maintenance Branch located at NASA Wallops Island. You will support contractors to ensure the mechanical /pneumatical / water systems are maintained. You will track and review service requests and perform Quality Assurance Inspections. You will work closely with management and provide support to contract staff and monitor work assignments.

Duties

Monitor performance by contractor(s) on assigned areas. Identifies potential issues that may impact completion of work. Analyzing and devising solutions to particularly complex or challenging problems. Perform weekly field inspection of random work order(s) by contractor(s), verify the fulfillment of obligations on contract(s). Document and report findings/discrepancies in a timely manner to supervisor and Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Provide support in the coordination of work by Operations and Maintenance contractors with limited to no support from the supervisor. Develop and implement new ideas, programs, or approaches significantly improves efficiency and/or reduces the administrative burden on customers. Identify, propose and implement appropriate and effective methods to streamline processes and/or more efficiently use of resources; efforts result in substantial savings of time or money and/or substantial increase in productivity. Utilize the Work Control Telephone number and/or Management Operations Services and Information system (MOSI) to submit, review or track work requests. Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Work Management System and other tools available to perform Quality Assurance Inspections and monitor work.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level Participating on a team and providing technical support to ensure the operational capability of assigned facilities; Performing inspections of work of assigned facilities to confirm work performed complies with plans and specifications; Providing solutions to potential work-impacting issues by following operational procedures, configuration mandates and facility operations standards.
