About the Position: Serves as a member of the Senior Commander's special staff and is the designated individual who serves as the Senior Commander's principal authority, strategic advisor, and advocate for the SHARP Program and victims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and associated retaliatory behaviors.

Duties

As the Lead SARC, the incumbent is responsible for all SHARP case management, and co-chairing/overseeing the execution of the meetings with the Senior Commander. Enforce compliance among SARCs and VAs with SHARP protocols and procedures for advocacy services and SHARP prevention personnel for SHARP-related prevention activities. As a credentialed SARC, the incumbent is responsible to perform duties as a SARC as required and outlined in AR 600-20 (24 July 2020), DoDI 6495.02, change 4 (11 September 2020) or any current SHARP regulatory guidance. Evaluate proposals for systems and/or programs required to meet existing or anticipated operational problems, challenges and changes in the operations environment. Responsible for the full range of supervisory duties for a diverse population, to include exercising significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require background checks to be conducted against all records as required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy and regulation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to attend and graduate from required SHARP training courses within six (6) months of employment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) within six months of employment
  • The duties of this position may require the incumbent to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days to execute position responsibilities based on the needs of the organization.
  • Incumbents must complete all required training, obtain certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • One-year Supervisory probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityProgram ManagementSexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP)Workforce Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
