About the Position: Serves as Administrative Officer for the Commanding General (CG), US Army Alaska (USARAK). Performs duties in direct support of a Major General at the Division level with responsibility for providing advice, assistance, and coordination of the full range of administrative services functions including: Correspondence, Records/Forms/Reports management, etc.).

Duties

Manage and coordinate electronic calendars for the Commanding General. Functions as Defense Travel Administration (DTA) for the Defense Travel System (DTS), and as such manages overall responsibility for DTS for Command Group travelers. Receives and reviews all incoming correspondence and prepares replies to general inquiries and routine actions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes advising, and assisting management in administrative and various office operations; and interpreting and analyzing administrative principles, concepts, policies, practices, and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceManages and Organizes InformationPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
