Duties
Plans, researches, analyzes, safeguards, grows, and maintains multiple complex automated systems that assess and monitor overall performance in the efficiency, productivity, appropriateness, effectiveness, and access to care.
Applies substantive analysis and comprehensive knowledge of laws, policies, regulations, precedents relative to healthcare and medical records to facilitate efficiency and quality management.
Performs Staff Assistant Visits (SAVs) duties, conducting the overall planning, administration, and evaluation of the medical records program.
Maintain responsibility for the development and implementation of policy solutions to achieve and ensure a mission-ready state, attributable to Continuous Quality Improvement.
Integrate new policies and procedures, significantly impacting administration and healthcare documentation throughout the MHS.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing research of healthcare data to recommend program improvements; assisting with the development of policies pertaining to medical records programs/policies; and interpreting rules/regulations impacting medical records processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
