Duties
- Plans and determines current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs.
- Prepares plans relating to phase-in and phase-out of new items.
- Determines the distribution of stocks and the stock levels to meet requirements
- Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects.
- Reviews budgetary estimates, furnishing justification, and procurement program data prior to procuring inventory stock items.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, and Administrative and Management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09), level or equivalent (grade level, pay schedule, pay band, etc.). Examples of specialized experience includes: knowledge of a broad range of supply management policies and regulations to ensure the satisfaction of all requirements while minimizing fraud, waste, & abuse of critical resources; knowledge of storage capacities, shelf lives, and war reserve levels to effectively rotate war reserve stocks; sufficient comprehension of computer-generated reports (transaction history, due-in, and violation reports) to use such to maintain stock on hand and support customer needs; knowledge of the inter-relationships among divisions, major commands, and other federal agencies to effectively gather information and resolve problems in a timely manner; skill in written and oral communications sufficient to prepare written guidance and decisions; to explain procedures developed for higher officials, military services, and other federal agencies; skill in performing overall supply management policies to ensure effective stock positioning to maintain essential war reserve levels.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Specialized experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position. Education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09 level. NOTE: You must submit copies of your unofficial transcripts with your application if using education as a substitution of experience.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of principles, concepts, practices, and procedures applicable to inventory management operations and programs.
2. Knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to the development and sustainment of uniforms for Air Force military members.
3. Skill in the application of methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effects of changes in program plans and funding for inventory management.
4. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare supply estimates, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve supply/inventory problems.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, and/or advise on inventory management processes/actions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
