This position is located in the Women's Veterans Program of the VA Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Identifies and/or implements program policies, procedures, and processes that help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Women Veterans Program (WVP); Runs reports, schedules new patients with providers, and tracks compliance of service Medical Center Policies; Develops training materials, presentations, and information packages for the agency's management program; Prepares various types of documents including reports, briefing slides, handouts, budgets, cost benefit and requirement analyses, and other written materials as required to detail and support the use of WVP funding to achieve project and program mission requirements; Develops and updates program materials that inform women Veterans and their families of services and benefits available to them within the VAIHCS, as well as assist with education of VA staff on Women's Health Services; Assists the Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) with critical administrative and clerical duties and coordinates administrative policies to assist staff with understanding and following care processes, regulations, and service polices; Tracks actions to ensure timely completion and resolution and refers significant problems for resolution; Establishes, reviews, updates, and develops complex administrative procedures that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work with parties and services outside the facility; Evaluates procedures and determines when changes need to be made and independently effects the changes; Maintains evidence based tracking data registries to ensure all service goals and objectives are being accomplished and performance measures are being met; Prepares correspondence, agenda items, and maintaining minutes; Manages service fiscal/budget controls and works with Financial Management Service staff to troubleshoot problems; Assists with preparing and tracking Women's Health grants; Manages a variety of fund control points and obligated funds; Communicates and collaborates with vendors to resolve billing issues and prepare reconciliations and adjustments; Requests and justifies increases in obligations; Participates in service outreach and the development of resource fairs, town halls, in-services, or educational trainings to VAIHCS staff, Women's Health campaigns, and women Veteran specific events; Plans and conducts limited projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve availability, access, and effectiveness of services and service delivery; Develops and maintains new programs, and plans and coordinates all objectives required to bring programs into the operational phase; Performs related duties as required. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized. This position includes a Selective Placement Factor (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to - and essential for - satisfactory performance of the job). The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Do you have experience compiling performance metric data to develop reports, databases, or spreadsheets. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~AND~ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-09: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing administrative support in a healthcare environment; retrieving, analyzing, and presenting performance metric data; monitoring policy and procedure compliance; scheduling medical appointments and maintaining clinic/office grids. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~ Master's or equivalent graduate degree, 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. (if related) that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. One year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. Transcripts required. ~OR~ An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Your experience must be detailed, and transcripts required. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
