You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the NUWC Keyport Unmanned and Theater Warfare Systems Department, Fleet USW Training Readiness and Undersea Surveillance Systems of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.

Duties

You will support the ASW MK30 Target Guam Operations Site, located in Guam. You will serve as a MK30 subject-matter expert in operations and maintenance of MK 30 ASW targets and associated systems. You will provide and assist in the technical, engineering, maintenance, and sustainment tasks and requirements associated with the MK30 tests and training operations. You will participate in meetings and briefings within the command, and conferences as needed, to acquire requirements and/or mission planning input.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-5/8) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing application of technical theory in mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical systems, systems engineering; adherence; quality assurance; management technical skills; planning and execution of corrective and preventive maintenance, reliability assessments; supportability and operations of anti-submarine warfare systems. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual. Applicants must possess:
  • knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics, such as a knowledge of basic electricity and electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics;
  • knowledge of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance; and
  • knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems related to, but less than, a full professional knowledge of electronic engineering.
