This position is part of the Department of Energy's Office of Policy, Office of Deployment and Infrastructure Policy Office (OP-30). As a Supervisory Policy Analyst, you will serve as the Deputy Director for OP-30 and provide guidance and direction for day-to-day organizational activities to interpret policies, priorities, and goals established by the Administration and the Department.
Duties
As a Supervisory Policy Analyst, you will:
Serve as the Deputy Director for Deployment and Infrastructure Policy.
Act as a recognized policy advisor expert and technical authority on power market and regulatory analysis, energy efficiency, or transport
sector decarbonization.
Direct the efforts in coordinating, facilitating, and aligning matters affecting integrated policies related to developing long-term strategies for clean energy deployment and infrastructure.
Serve as a Department of Energy (DOE) representative to or leader of intra-agency and interagency teams, working
groups or committees, to clearly communicate Office of Policy and/or Department of Energy viewpoints and making presentations on
behalf of the Department.
Consult with Department of Energy policy and program staff and management officials, Congressional staff, state and local government representatives, international organizations, and private sector organizations on matters affecting deployment and infrastructure goals.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Implementing or providing strategic direction for initiatives to advance clean energy deployment and infrastructure investment nationally or at the state level or equivalent AND
Developing written publications, leading workgroups/committees OR defending policy positions pertaining to power market, energy efficiency, or transportation sector decarbonization AND
Developing, implementing, or researching impacts of initiatives related to major energy legislation (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Clean Air Act, or similar law).
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
