You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will analyze all phases of projects (e.g., cost, utilization of manpower, work accomplishments) to evaluate work progress and cost. You will coordinate with other trades to determine the sequence of work for repair or maintenance assignments. You will determine the need for replenishment of materials to verify adequate resources are available to perform facilities maintenance and repair work. You will follow established safety procedures and practices at all times and ensure the adherence of your team.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Performs as a team leader for civilian personnel, passing on information to the team from the supervisor and work independently on assigned projects; 2) Inspects electrical systems, equipment and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate breakdowns and make repairs; 3) Selects and set up welding equipment and ensure welds meet standards and engineering design drawings and specifications.
