About the Position: Serves as a Senior Strategic Planner in the Strategy and Plans, Directorate, G-5 with responsibility for managing, planning, coordinating, integrating, and implementing Command initiatives to include, but not limited to Strategic Management Planning; Business Process Reengineering; Customer Feedback Systems; and benchmarking. Assesses strategic environment, options, and risk: operationally and institutionally. Translates National Priorities into Military Strategy and Plans.
Duties
As a senior analyst, works with staff organizations and subordinate commands to ensure effective action planning in support of strategic goals.
Evaluate the effectiveness of short and long range planning and various programs designed to meet SDDCs goals and objectives.
Support and leads study groups or steering committees to identify and implement recommendations to improve overall SDDC functions, operations, and overall performance.
Prepare and conducts briefings on change management and strategic planning initiatives through staff meetings, training sessions, etc.
Develop the feedback processes for periodic updates of action plans.
Provide assistance to HQ SDDC, and subordinate commands on development of concepts, policies, and principles for a comprehensive quality improvement strategy.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE GS-13:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
Managing, planning, coordinating, integrating, and implementing Command initiatives to include Strategic Management Planning and Business Process Reengineering.
Eveloping feedback processes and benchmarking for periodic updates of action plans in support of Command strategic goals.
Evaluating on-going actions to meet the Command's goals and objectives.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
