This position is located at Outdoor Recreation, Community Recreation Division at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. Announcement will have a first cutoff date of July 23, 2023, and applicants that submit a complete application packet prior to that date and found eligible may be given first consideration.

Duties

Plans, schedules, organizes, and implements outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, canoeing, and camping, and recreational trips. Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment. Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses. Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas. Prepares standard operating procedures. May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5-year plan. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.

• Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
• Shift will usually be Monday-Friday 1300-2130, but can vary. Weekends and holidays may be required in support of special events.

Qualifications

Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume. Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelors degree with a major study in outdoor recreation and parks, recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
