You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Research & Engineering Group, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will advise engineering team on capabilities and limitations of fabricated materials or components. You will investigate deficiencies and malfunctions in the assigned aircraft platform. You will develop factual data to resolve problems for changes or modification required to bring equipment up to standards. You will resolve job order, job material list, or deficiency log item problems to ensure conformance with plans, standards, guidelines, or other requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Resolving complex technical matters that cross engineering fields and disciplines such as problems with industrial production equipment operation. 2) Incorporating engineering techniques and theories pertaining to Heat Treating, metallurgy and material performance as it applies to Aircraft Launch and Recovery (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE) system operations. 3) Utilizing one or more phases of material management including initial planning, provisioning and requirements determination in order to identify and procure goods and services that support ALRE and SE personnel. 4) Reducing complex technical engineering data to assessable forms in order to conduct subsequent analysis and make recommendations on technical matters. FOR GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
