About the Position: The San Antonio Recruiting Battalion's mission is to recruit qualified men and women from south and central Texas and southern New Mexico, in order to provide the strength needed to uphold and defend Freedom and Democracy.
Duties
Support the BDEs Unit Status Brief (USB), awards board, mentorship program, and evaluates the recruiting support program.
Conduct and/or participate in the conduct of inspections and re-inspections of subordinate BNs
Receive requests and reviews for determination of BN jurisdiction for appropriate action and maintains suspense system to insure final disposition of each case.
Responsible for review and analysis of a wide variety of briefing materials obtained from various sources for use by superiors in staff meetings, management updates, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires a typist able to type at a speed of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) as a condition of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of military HR programs to perform a wide variety of interrelated processes and provide guidance and assistance to customers; performing a wide variety of interrelated processes and provide guidance and assistance to customers; conducting military personnel operation inspections to ensure that documentation is correct and sufficient and that all levels of legal, medical, and administrative review are complete and to prepare reports of survey; using standard business software, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access to compile data and prepare statistical and other reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
