About the Position: This position is in the Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, Dir of Administration, San Diego, California. San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Immense Balboa Park is the site of the San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, art studios museums and gardens. A deep harbor is the Home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.
Duties
Files patient records using various filing systems.
Ensure folders are properly labeled, coded and in good condition.
Type file labels, indexes, patient record cards, mailing labels, medical identification cards and medical warning tags.
File loose medical documents in existing or temporary records.
Give directions to requestor on location and operating hours of appropriate clinic.
Receive telephone calls from military and civilian facilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 35 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, use of a variety of filing systems to sort and retrieve records; utilize automated systems to enter data, create labels, and scan documents; perform customer service duties as needed such as answering phone and answering general questions.

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
