Duties
You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Operations Transmitter Deck Watch (N31), Operations Division at NCTAMS LANT Detachment Cutler, ME.
You will be a member of a team responsible for the Transmitter and Information Technology (IT) systems and networks at the Detachment.
You will be responsible for primarily the operation and/or maintenance of the AN/FRT-31 Transmitter and the Low Band Universal Communications System (LBUCS) as well as associated ancillary equipment.
You will operate, maintain, test, overhaul, modify, align and repair Very Low Frequency (VLF) transmitter system (AN/FRT-31).
You will operate, maintain, test, align, install and repair audio, IT, and digital communications equipment and interface devices.
You will prepare and maintain daily maintenance logs, reports and records.
You will operate and maintain safety equipment associated with other listed tasks and initiate action to correct all safety hazards.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- You must have 20/20 vision or vision correctable to 20/20 with corrective lenses, must not be color blind and have good hearing.
- You must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally will be required to lift items in excess of 40 pounds and up to several hundred pounds using weight handling equipment.
Qualifications
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
-Experience testing and repairing electronic and IT equipment.
-Experience measuring system performance and availability.
-Experience identifying site security policies.
-Experience operating low-level maintenance duties on a network.

Education
Applicants may substitute the following level of education for the specialized experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position and is directly related to the work of the position: (Transcripts must be provided)
One full year of graduate education meets the requirements.
Equivalent combination of graduate level education and experience may be used to meet qualification requirements.
All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
