Duties

You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Operations Division (N3), Operations Transmitter Deck Watch (N31) of the Operations Division at Naval Computer/Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT) Detachment in Cutler, ME. You will initiate action to correct all safety hazards. You will troubleshoot system hardware and software in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. You will monitor overall system performance and status by acknowledging, silencing, responding, and reporting alarms and alerts. You will monitor and configure application interfaces.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally will be required to lift items in excess of 40 pounds and up to several hundred pounds using weight handling equipment.
  • Must have 20/20 vision or vision correctable to 20/20 with corrective lenses, must not be color blind and have good hearing.
  • Position requires annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: *Experience utilizing electronic and IT theories; *Experience measuring system performance and availability; *Experience applying site security policies; *Experience operating low-level maintenance duties on network. This position is within the Work Category Technician & Admin Support at Work Level Full Performance Work level II, Series and Grade GG-0856-07.
