About the Position: Serves as an Executive Administrative Specialist to the Commanding General to a Two-Star Command providing executive support and administrative functions to the Command Headquarters of a large Major Subordinate Command (MSC) of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC). Provides backup to the alternate Executive Administrative Specialist within the command group headquarters; and, position assists the Protocol Officer.
Duties
Serves as an Executive Administrative Specialist to the Commanding General to a Two-Star Command providing executive support and administrative functions.
Serve as the Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder for Official Representation Fund purchases with responsibility for monitoring and obtaining Command Group supplies.
Recommend revisions to or establishment of administrative policies, some of which may impact the entire Command HQ and all subordinate elements.
Anticipate, research, and add necessary background information to correspondence requiring the attention/response of Command leaders.
Assist the Protocol Officer with the execution of Command Group events.
Work closely with other elements of the Command Group and appropriate points of contact in scheduling and coordinating all visits and meetings.
Responsible for front-office administration, serving as an element of continuity to ensure standard and administrative procedures support mission objectives established by the Headquarters Command Group.
Complete all necessary travel arrangements for the Command Group's travel schedules.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

To Qualify for the GS-11:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes:
Facilitating administrative and management tasks such as, scheduling calendar commitments, reviewing sensitive and/or confidential correspondence, providing support, and/or coordinating Joint Deployment Distribution Enterprise level engagements for Senior Leaders.
Preparing and reviewing correspondence and other products to support the scheduling and coordination of senior leader travel, events, and/or engagements for the Command Staff with military agencies, domestic carriers, and other international partners.
Maintain close coordination with senior administrative staff on office calls, meetings, conferences, and special missions' requirement with supported/supporting Joint General/Flag Officer commands.
Coordinating all domestic and international travel arrangements and on/off-site coordination for executive-level travel, Senior Leader visits, major events, social activities, and/or speeches.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

GS-11 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
