This position is in the Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The position mainly is assigned to North Little Rock but may work in either Little Rock or North Little Rock depending on program needs.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Tracks measures of performance and runs various office reports. Identifies problem areas requiring attention of management. Fields questions and inquiries regarding the program, answers general questions and refers other questions as appropriate to the appropriate staff members. Provides training for staff regarding use of computer applications to include Outlook, Word, Access, Power Point and Excel. Serves as Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC), support for staff members entering work orders, requests for computer access, menu changes, trouble shooting technical problems. Manages calendars, attends meetings and prepares minutes with follow up on actions as appropriate with staff members. Protects electronic files containing sensitive data. Protects data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files and release of access codes. Provides customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. Meets the needs of customers while supporting the mission. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (subject to change based on the needs of the agency) Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/25/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; answering telephones, referring visitors, and providing information. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: CommunicationComputer SkillsHealth InformaticsKnowledge Management Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary in a clinic environment. Some bending, standing, and carrying of supplies may be required. Some walking to all parts of the facility is required since the incumbent will be working with a variety of clinical and administrative services.
