The purpose of the position is to provide administrative and clerical support to Workforce & Inclusion, Learning & Development at the Horace Albright Training Center.

Duties
The major duties of the Administrative Support Assistant (OA) position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides accurate and reliable information on the administrative functions of the park, headquarters, regional office, or center
Interacts with managers, supervisors, and staff members on matters related to administrative services by attending meetings and serving on appropriate work teams/groups.

Serves as technical resource to unit personnel on travel policies and regulations, and provides information on travel allowances and requirements
Identifies, restructures, and recommends ways of eliminating, combining, simplifying or improving administrative and clerical office procedures and processes.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-07/25/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS: This position performs Office Automation work, and the ability to type at least 40 words per minute is required. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.

To qualify for the Administrative Support Assistant (OA) position at the GS-05 grade, you must meet the following minimum qualifications by the closing date of this announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of: (1) Familiarity with software packages to produce a variety of documents; (2) Updating calendars; (3) tracking and managing property; (4) Purchasing supplies; (5) Typing correspondence, memos, reports, and forms from rough drafts and note; (6) Answering telephone calls; and (7) Filing. You must include your resume with hours worked per week annotated. -OR-
EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school, (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. You must include transcripts. -OR-
Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) that is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. (One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Then take the number of months of full time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts.
You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies". Experience listed as full-time will be credited at 40 hours per week.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
