You will serve as a Museum Specialist (GENERAL) within the GREAT LAKES NAVAL MUSEUM.

Duties

You will serve as a spokesperson for the museum. You will be extracting essential historical concepts from diverse material and expressing these ideas in a clear written format for a variety of sources, including articles, social media press releases blogs and websites. You will be required to have strong public speaking skills. You will develop and present instructional and promotional materials to varied audiences using multi-media materials and computers is required. You will prepare and maintain large databases of mailing recipients who receive information about museum events.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1. Developing museum marking and outreach programs, tours and lectures requiring the constant exercise of discretion imagination and originality. 2. Demonstrating experience in working collaboratively on a team. 3. Developing and presenting instructional and promotional materials to varied audiences using mulita-media materials and computers required. 4. Coordinating all work schedules and overseeing all work plans and major work assignment and evaluating all work performances. 5. Developing networks and building alliances and collaborating across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals.
